Pain management clinics

Cromlyn House Veterinary Hospital offers pain management clinics for their patients. If your pet is suffering from conditions such as arthritis, spinal pain, hip or elbow dysplasia, recovering from surgery or if your sporting athlete is injured, a suitable programme can be tailored to their individual needs.

At the initial consultation which can take 30-45 minutes, an assessment of your pet’s muscular or joint pain, muscle strength and joint range of motion and mobility will be made. This will enable the appropriate therapy to be selected to help in achieving pain relief and return to optimal function and fitness.

The available therapies include:

  • Acupuncture.
  • Physiotherapy.
  • Laser therapy.
  • Neuromuscular electrical therapy.
  • Massage and passive and active exercises.

If necessary, referral for hydrotherapy can also be arranged. These treatments are usually well tolerated by most patients.

Veterinary surgeon Siobhan Menzies, who established Holisticpet thirteen years ago, will head the team of veterinary surgeons and chartered physiotherapists dedicated to relieving pain in your pet. Working closely with Holisticpet we hope to achieve the best combination of conventional and holistic treatments for our patients.
